What is Side By Side?

The Side By Side program empowers kids everywhere to join hands and come together through unity and compassion. Our original theme song, ‘Side By Side’, promotes diversity, acceptance, and cooperation, and our program has created a movement that empowers kids to be themselves and to embrace the differences in others. What is the contest?

The Side By Side Poster Contest will be running from August 11th – August 20th, 2017.

Through our contest, we want to know what Side By Side means to you. Create a poster that shows friendship, happiness, togetherness, community, diversity, or any other qualities of Side By Side that you would like to portray.

Some ideas include drawings of your friends, neighborhood, family, school community, etc. We would love to see your portrayal of how communities everywhere can work together as one.

Qualities for Poster

• Size can be anywhere from 8.5 x 11 in. (printer paper) to 12 x 18 in.
• Print and fill out this entry form and attach it to the back of your poster
• Make sure to also write your first name directly to the back of the poster
• You may use any materials to create your artwork: markers, crayons, colored pencils, glitter, paint, stickers, etc. Have fun creating!
• *Posters must be appropriate, respectful, and child friendly*

How to Turn in Your Poster

Posters must be dropped off at the front desk of Foodie’s Market in Belmont Center between August 11th and August 20th.

Make sure to attach your entry form with your poster.

How the Winners Will Be Chosen

The winners names will be announced on August 28th on our website. Parents will be notified with an email.

The winners will be chosen by our student group of volunteers.

Prizes will be given out on August 31st at 6 pm at Foodie’s Market in Belmont Center.

The top 3 artists will be chosen for prizes, which will be provided by local Belmont vendors.
